High-flying BathEmpire.com is sharing its success with Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
As part of Luxury For Less, BathEmpire.com has given £1,000 to help the air ambulance service keep flying and saving lives.
The donation is from a prize received for the company being named Small Business of the Year and its founder and CEO Chris Li being crowned Business Achiever of the Year at the Nectar Business Small Business Awards 2012.
Luxury For Less, based in Coventry, made the pledge to its newly-nominated local charity as the company celebrated its sixth birthday at the end of its most successful year to date.
BathEmpire.com was recently ranked 37th in the Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100, the highly-acclaimed league table to Britain’s fastest-growing firms.
Chris said: “We wanted to support a local charity and decided as a company that it would be Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
“Being based so close to the M6, we are well aware of the impact that the air ambulance service can have in helping to save the lives of those involved in accidents.
“It is a charity that is entirely self-funded which means it relies totally on donations so hopefully our support will help to make a real difference to their valuable work.”
Representatives from the company were invited to the air ambulance base at Coventry Airport to meet crew members and have a look around their helicopter.
Sarah Wakeman, fundraising manager at Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance, said: “We are delighted to receive such a fantastic amount from Luxury For Less.
“The charity receives no Government or National Lottery funding and relies totally on the generosity of companies and members of the public to keep our aircraft flying.”
Luxury For Less was awarded £4,000 in prize money from the Nectar Business Small Business Awards.
It also received 100,000 Nectar points which will be used to buy books for the company’s library which employees are encouraged to use to help with their development.
