At the time I had a little dig at the entry from The Fountain on Locust, on account of it’s complete lack of design restraint.

So you can imagine my shock when I learnt this week that this restroom won the top prize!

Have I lost touch with what makes good design? I’m all for playfulness, but don’t you think this is just plain weird?

I thought The Muse Hotel was the best in that competition!

Since Canada’s Best Restroom competition is still undecided, I’m going to have another shot at this.

So, I’ve got a gut feeling that the bathroom in Mildred’s Temple Kitchen will win. Those murals are fantastic.

Since Americans have a reputation for lacking subtlety, you can be sure that their bathrooms are equally bold. That being said there are some truly stunning designs on display.

Stand out designs for me are the Muse Hotel’s individually themed rooms, with beautiful mosaic tiling and some very creative lighting.

The Grand America Hotel has an equally grand bathroom. Gold taps, marble counters, fresh flowers and chandeliers.

Really not sure about The Fountain on Locust. I’m all for a bit of bold design, but surely there is far too much going on in this room?
