Bathroom furniture is an essential item, whether for a busy bathroom or a small en-suite. Whenever installing bathroom furniture, it is a good idea not only to measure but also to visually test whether the placement would work. This could simply be a sketched drawing, or those of a more technically savvy nature may use design software to virtually create an image of the new bathroom design.

For example, this heightened set of Cammon drawers would work well against a wall, but in a more central room placement it would seem out of line. What is more, in small bathrooms, horizontal lines can extend the eye-line, making the room seem wider.

The ‘hotel’ style of furniture is growing in popularity, as more and more people are finding that they want to create spa-like luxury in the comfort of their own homes. And that is why we have also launched a series of gloss white vanity mirrors.

These are special as they are all fitted with halogen bulbs above the mirror. This implements a key bathroom design element to help reflect light back into the room; more specifically, lights in this position ‘throw’ light onto the face, and can be especially useful for make-up application or personal grooming.

Even in a smaller bathroom, having more lights is always better than fewer, as they can always be turned off to reduce illumination. And for further control, consider wiring lights to a bathroom dimmer switch.

What to Look For When Buying Furniture

Another factor to consider is whether you want wall mounted or floor mounted furniture. What is more, extra features such as soft close mechanisms and internal shelving make these long lasting options even more attractive.

Space is a key issue when planning a new bathroom and it is especially important to maximise the storage room by purchasing the right bathroom furniture. Although this may seem like a daunting task, the first thing to apply some thought, initially, is which pieces would best suit your current lifestyle.

Scenario 1:

Lifestyle: Family.

If you are constantly on the go, and go and have a bustling family commitments, it would be handy for your bathroom to accommodate all the essentials. The P-Shaped or L-Shaped shower baths are great, versatile pieces. Not only can they accommodate an adult 5 minute shower, they are great for the kids as well.
