5 reasons why chrome is right for your bathroom

1) Chrome will not rust
So long as your shower, tap or radiator is plated correctly you won’t have problems with rust.
Most taps and showers are made from brass, which is resistant to rust. A chrome plating process of 40 microns would be sufficient to guarantee a long lasting finish.
Towel radiators require an extra bit of attention. Since these are mostly made of low carbon steel a further 2 stages are added to the plating process.
First a layer of copper is applied, then 3 layers of Nickel, then finally topped off with the chrome. 60 microns of chrome guarantees an exquisite finish.
2) Chrome will not show finger prints
Strangely enough, a good way testing the quality of chrome is to see what happens when you leave your finger prints on it.
If the chrome is of a high standard, 40 or 60 microns thick, the finger print will disappear after a few minutes.
Just make sure the chrome you buy is at least 40 microns thick.
3) Chrome is the best look for all bathrooms
Sleek, shiny, modern chrome is a beautiful and stylish look for all bathrooms.
Chrome makes a real feature of your mixer shower, meaning that exposed fittings become an attractive focal point, not something to hide.
4) Chrome looks great with any colour scheme
Since chrome is a neutral tone, it will complement any colour scheme.
5) Chrome is easy to keep clean
All that is needed to keep your chrome shining is water and a soft cloth. It’s that easy!
So long as you make sure your cloth is soft it will not scratch the chrome.
If you need something stronger use washing up liquid or soap. Never use an acidic cleaner.

So the thicker the chrome the less i should have to clean it?

Good question Simon.
That is correct, to a certain extent.
If chrome is much thinner than 40 microns it will start to show marks which will be hard to remove.
