The head of BathEmpire.com has been named Emerging Entrepreneur in the Midlands final of a national award to recognise leading business innovators.
Chris Li, founder and CEO of BathEmpire.com, based in Coventry, will now represent the region in the UK finals of Ernst & Young's Entrepreneur of the Year to be held in London in October.
BathEmpire.com, launched in 2009, supplies bathroom furniture, equipment and accessories direct to the public and is the fastest growing online bathroom retailer in the UK, according to Google and Hitwise data.
The accolade was presented to Chris at an awards dinner held at The Belfry in Sutton Coldfield on Tuesday, June 18 and hosted by TV and radio presenter Jeremy Vine.
The Entrepreneur Of The Year programme, sponsored by Credit Suisse, celebrates leading entrepreneurs in the Midlands who have demonstrated the innovation, creativity and tenacity to succeed despite the tough economic environment.
Adrian Roberts, Midlands EOY Sponsor Partner, said: "It's really important to celebrate those entrepreneurs who are succeeding under the current pressures of a difficult economy. The clear theme from this year's finalists is that these people are using innovative thinking, vision and determination to drive our region forward.
"The talent, zest and ambition of these entrepreneurs sets them apart from the rest and I wish all of our Midlands winners well as they go on to compete in the UK final."
