When you embark upon designing a new bathroom, there is a multitude of things to think about, ideas to pin down and facts and figures to digest.
The research process is an essential – if sometimes monotonous – aspect of the redecoration process, one that is not to be neglected if you want to save your own time, nerves and money.
In a crowded field of unappealing statistics, dimensions and tasks, one thing I really push to the forefront is an appreciation of materials. This is not just to consider finishes, which is obviously important, but something far more fundamental: longevity.
Certain materials will offer you increased levels of performance over a longer period of time, something that you should be desiring for the sake of your wallet and patience. Below is a quick tour around the bathroom and the metals, woods and other substances you should be looking for when shopping for your bathroom suites and accessories in our bathroom sale.
Bathroom Furniture
Storage is a bathroom essential, there’s no getting away from it. But I imagine you will want tough, resilient storage that will look great and stand up to wear and tear?
Look for strong, sturdy construction, the best options materials-wise tending to be MFC/MDF or stainless steel, depending on the style of your chosen unit. Stainless steel is particularly good as it has superlative corrosion resistance qualities, ideal for a hardwearing unit.
Our range of Lassen Wenge Furniture and Redmond Oak Furniture has been reduced by up to 50% in our fantastic bathroom sale.
Baths
There are a few different options open to you when it comes to a bath, which fluctuates on the basis of budget.
For me, and BathEmpire, the very best setup tends to be fibreglass resin, which is then reinforced to guarantee strength. This tends not to do for a finish, so some form of acrylic finish is usually used. If you want the best, go for our world-renowned Lucite finishes, which are tough and remain warm to the touch.
The traditional roll top bath that entails a modern twist has been reduced by a mind-blowing £685 in our latest bathroom sale.
Ceramics – Bathroom Suites
Ceramics are arguably the area where there is the least differentiation. If I had to nail my colours to the mast though, I would have my bathroom basins made of white vitreous china, and the same for my toilets and bidets. White vitreous china combines gorgeous looks and resilience, so it’s a great choice, and it is the only ceramic we use here at BathEmpire.
Our sleek and sophisticated Palena suites ceramics have been reduced by up to a staggering 66%, so take a look now!
Showers
There are a number of different components in a shower set, but some of them require different things. Let’s start from the bottom up, with shower trays. Our quality shower trays are formed of stone – either solid or resin – and properly tested to guarantee no warping or weakness.
Top-of-the-line BathEmpire shower heads, valves, body jets and riser rails should boast brass and chrome combinations; these materials give you serious corrosion resistance and a beautifully reflective mirror finish, respectively.
For instance, you can match this reduced Lydford Traditional Bath Mixer Tap with Hand Held Shower with the lovely roll top bath above.
For budget options, some plastic effect shower heads are perfectly fine though, especially those fabricated using a rapid heat cycle moulding method. This provides quality endurance and a burnished finish.
