There are few rooms in the home that are expected to offer so much functionality than the bathroom.

The kitchen is the nearest rival when it comes to fitting so many things inside such a small space, but even they are often larger in size.

Heating

You might not immediately think that switching out your heaters could help you to save space, but you’d be wrong.

Nowadays there are a range of modern radiator styles that are created to successfully heat your rooms but take up less space as they do it. Column radiators are much taller and narrower than their traditional cousins and take up little horizontal wall space at ground level. Instead, they fit to the upper portions of the wall which are normally under-utilised.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heated towel rails are another option but provide the added benefit of being shaped specifically to hold a number of clothes and towels. Unlike older designs that can protrude a little further into the room than you might like, towel rails hug the wall much closer, again saving a few precious millimetres.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tubs and Showers

If you’ve saved as much space as you can but you still don’t have enough room for that stylish freestanding bathtub you had your eye on, corner baths are a great compromise. These bathtubs, as you might imagine, fit snugly into any corner of your bathroom and free up straight sections of walls for other less flexible bathroom fittings.

 

 

 

 

 
However, if a shower is your top priority, that same corner could be ideal for a quadrant shower enclosure. These cubicles are smooth and rounded to avoid sharp edges sticking out into the room and have a spacious interior so you can shower in comfort.
