Australian Bathroom Fittings
Style Guidesback to wall toilet, bathroom, bathroom fittings, bathroom ideas, inspiration, modern bathroomAustralia is a land of many perceptions, some muddled, some not. To the uninitiated – those who haven’t travelled down there, mainly – the stereotypes reign.
Those people will think of Australia as a vast, broiling desert, populated by drunken larrikin types in hats with corks hanging off them, wrestling alligators or chasing kangaroos. Now, that’s not completely true – I mean some of them don’t even wear hats…
Why am I talking of the antipodes? Well, when working with bathroom fittings, it can sometimes become really rather difficult to come up with fresh bathroom ideas. Of course, the open, untamed spaces of the internet holds much material for inspiration, but even this well can get a little shallower when so many go to it so much.
So, I reasoned, why not go all the way to the other side of the globe to get a fresh perspective? Luckily, that’s precisely what I got.
The images accompanying this piece come from specialist bathroom store Minosa Design for an apartment close to Harbour Bridge, in Sydney.
There is so much to recommend this gorgeous modern bathroom that it is hard to know where to start. White might seem rather standard and unexciting, but what it is is fresh, open, clean and bright, really maximising the space. This look is further promoted by the sheer minimalism evinced, with a clever use of glass to allow the light free play around the room. To keep things light, the flooring is of a smooth, soft wooden finish, not closing in from the bottom of the room.
The little touches in the bathroom fittings are contemporary too. The back to wall toilet ensures the cistern is hidden away, and the dark black taps make for a beautiful contrast. The walk in shower is breezy and light, with no rococo flourishes – just a steady, normal round shower head.
So, I suppose the moral of the story here is to search high and wide when it comes to inspiration for your home. This is because something far away can give you a great window into something that might just suit you.
On that note, let me leave you with some more inspiring bathroom ideas from Minosa Design.
Having read this I believed it was really informative. I appreciate you finding the time and effort to put this short article together. I once again find myself spending a lot of time both reading and posting comments. But so what, it was still worthwhile!
