Selecting Colours for Your Bathroom

Bathroom Planning, Choose Your Style, Renovation, Room Considerations

Your bathroom can be designed in a variety of colours. But it is also worth considering some bathroom shades that will enhance the overall atmosphere of the bathroom.

Taking a few steps in an interior design consultant’s shoes can allow you to learn from their expertise and focus a bit more on your choice of colour. For north-facing rooms, cooler shades of blue or green will complement. However, for larger spaces, or south-facing rooms, consider varieties of orange or yellow.

Other professionals shape their advice solely on the use of the room. Lighter shades can be associated with a more feminine bathroom. For instance, beige, pinks and peaches can all mirror the skin tone but must be met with effective lighting, especially with your choice of bathroom mirror.

In contrast, cleaner, bolder shades convey a more masculine feel. Even though natural themes are currently quite fashionable, the clean, dark colours still continue to present a sophisticated and classy finish. The slightly curved corners of the bathroom mirror create a moody, dramatic space.

But if you are unsure about the design direction you would like to take, opt for white bathroom furniture. You can then stamp your personality onto such a neutral canvas. Paint is one of the easiest methods to use as it can be changed at any time.

Alternatively, any array of bathroom accessories can be added, and should circumstances or situations change, the whole bathroom can be revitalised with minimal fuss.

So there we have a selection of considerations that would be useful to think about before picking the shade of your brand new bathroom. However, if you are still feeling overwhelmed with the amount of choice that is available in the current market, it may be worth coming to visit us at the Homebuilding and Renovation show in March.

This will allow you to speak to one of our helpful assistants and get a clearer picture of which colours would go well with the products you are interested in. If you would like to win some free tickets to the show, click here to enter our prize draw.
